Ever since Lindsay Lohan suffered a rather dramatic fall from grace when she was just a teenager she has been surrounded by many-a-Internet-meme and jokes about her ‘twin’, referencing her hit film ‘The Parent Trap’.
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past eighteen years, ‘The Parent Trap’ was the movie that rocketed a twelve-year-old Lindsay into fame as she played both identical twins; posh, British Annie and Californian, wild-child Hallie.
With many viewers initially stunned to discover that Lindsay didn’t *really* have an identical twin, a long-running joke on the net speculates what happened to the ‘British Lindsay’ with one popular image reading: “I like to believe that somewhere out there the British Lindsay Lohan has managed to live a more stable life.”
However, the 29-year-old actress came across the joke on social media last night and couldn’t resist hitting back as she poked fun at the situation.
Retweeting the image, Lindsay added: “You’re beliefs are in tact. There’s only 1 of me. But, a twin would make me a lot more $honey #youknowyoulovethem”.
Erm, we think what she’s trying to say is: “I don’t have a twin, but I wish I did because then I’d be EVEN RICHER.”
Well, she certainly has a point.
The star’s fans loved her little quip and it was quickly retweeted over 2,500 times and favorited more than 6,000.
It’s good to see that no matter what’s going on in her life, Lindsay still has a sense of humour.
