Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) offered some advice to troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan Tuesday, saying that the actress should seek “guidance from some people that care about her.”

Speaking with “America’s Morning News” on the Talk Radio Network, Brown said he “think[s] about” Lohan “a lot,” and that he would like a chance to tell her “you can do better and be better.”

Brown, father of two daughters around Lohan’s age, also recalled Lohan’s career in the 1998 film “The Parent Trap” and seemed to be disturbed by the rugged path she had taken since then — one that most recently landed her in a court room for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace.

“All of the things you read about her, you feel badly,” Brown said. “I would hope that she would start to get some real guidance from some people that care about her and [are] not looking for headlines or purse strings attached.”

In Brown’s book, “Against All Odds,” the senator describes his experience with shoplifting during his teen years, a tumultuous period that was marked with sexual and physical abuse.

Lindsay Lohan may have landed her newest comeback role.

RadarOnline reports that Lohan, recently out of rehab and now in legal trouble for allegedly stealing a necklace — is lined up to star in “Escaping The Game”. Lohan would play — perhaps ironically — a journalist out to find celebrities that have escaped to a distant island in order to get out of the paparazzi limelight.

The film’s producer, Nathan Folks, says Lindsay is a good friend and is all for doing the project — so long as she doesn’t go to jail, which he’s confident she won’t — and has agreed to be monitored 24/7 so that the film can get insured.

This isn’t the first time Lohan has been rumored for what would be a comeback role. She’s supposedly set to star in a thinly veiled version of her story called “One Night With You,” though rumor has it that her legal trouble could see her cut from the cast.

Lohan was already cut from the starring role in “Inferno,” the Linda Lovelace biopic.

On Wednesday Lindsay Lohan was back in court, where she was told she’d get jail time with any plea deal (she has until her next court date, March 10, to decide whether to accept the plea deal).

TMZ is reporting that minutes after leaving the courtroom, Lindsay said she would not accept a plea bargain and plans to take the case to trial.

Her outfit was slightly more demure than her last court getup, a short white dress.

Lindsay is charged with felony grand theft for allegedly stealing a necklace from an LA jewelry store.
