A San Francisco-based wild child’s (Lindsay Lohan) hard-partying ways prompt her distraught mother (Felicity Huffman) to drive her to Idaho to live with her no-nonsense grandma (Jane Fonda). Once there, she causes plenty of havoc before revealing a shocking secret that begins to help her grow up and bond with her family.
