QOTD: YES ,at least in public schools or any schools that get government funding of any kind. Private schools that have their own funding can f*ck kids up how ever they want…. we wonder why the USA is falling behind in science scores…
QOTD: Most Science is just theories that can’t be proven wrong. But creationism CAN be proven wrong and therefore shouldn’t be taught to children.

I think it SHOULD be able to be taught to children instead of science. But those kids shouldn’t be able to vote and should have bizarre cults out in the hills.
Anything that is not definitively proven to be correct or a fact shouldn’t be taught in schools. Creationism is not a proven fact. It is a belief system that is impossible to prove.
Fact- a piece of information presented as having objective reality.
I used to like Lindsay Lohan, until she started being slutty.

Creationism should be taught in schools along with ponzi schemes, confidence schemese, psychic readings, tarot cards, and life coaching. SInce we no longer produce or manufacture anything in this country, our kids need some skills to make money.
What I personally find funny is that science teachers have to tiptoe around evolution in order to not offend anyone. In my A-Level biology class and my friend’s degree level Biotech class, the teachers had to specifically say “This isn’t necessarily the truth, but this is the scientific way that you need to know to pass the course”, yet creationists are allowed to just say “This happened, bon’t believe the hype anyone else goes on about, they’re wrong.” Science is the more forgiving side!

Teaching creationism (or anything else not based on evidence) should absolutely be banned from public schools. If we’re going to educate children on topics that have no basis in reality then what’s the point in having an education at all? We might as well let them run around all day playing with their own imaginary friends, as opposed to the one the church would have them believe.
Funny part of homeschooling is I do it for my kids to keep them away from faith.

I think real Christianity as it’s recorded in the bible has few followers, but you know the verse “when were you naked and hungry, sick and in prison that we fed you and clothed you and medicated you and visited you? and Jesus responded, “in as much as you’ve done it to the least of these, you’ve done it unto me”
Thus even Jesus was saying that you don’t even have to know him to be be following His commandments that lead unto life.

Homeschooling gives one the chance to completely control what form of brainwashing your kid gets, so if you want to spread all your beliefs to your poor kid without them being able to think critically about your opinions, then by all means. If you don’t then the state gets to brainwash them. I vote YES in spite of the crap I went through.
I would only home school my kids to keep them from being horrendously brainwashed and probably scarred for life.
At the end of each year I was evaluated by an Government Social Worker. My curriculum was a Faith Based education system. That didn’t matter, because I was already WAY too brainwashed for it to make a difference, the influence of church, and my own decision to want to be good so God wouldn’t throw me into hell because he loved me, conspired to make home school a disaster for my life, but my Einsteinian curiosity made me seek truth and the web had just come out that year, so I’ve been escaping..
They tell you to hate the sin and love the sinner, but kids can’t help but pick up parents’ fear & hatred of gays, sex, and the like. And so the kids pick it up even if you don’t say it. It took me years to get over hating gays. I can’t believe I hated, when Jesus said love your enemy, I should be loving Satan! I’m still letting go of old beliefs. there are some that are hard to let go of, because I AM my beliefs and I’m losing my identity. think HAL9000.
they really want to implement gay stoning. duh. beliefs are a disease that block you from seeing all of reality. theist and anti-theist alike.
