Walt Disney made the motion picture “The Parent Trap” back in 1961 starring Hayley Mills, and a remake in 1998 with Lindsay Lohan when she was still uncorrupted. I now bring to you the Japanese version, made in 1951. based on the novel ‘Das doppelte Lottchen’ by Erich Kästner, it has quite a different taste compared with the Disney equivalents. Such a pity it’s not in colour! Please rate and comment, but don’t report ay! … The Parent Trap Japanese Juego de Gemelas parte japonessa doppelte …

Absolutely cool!!!!
I am e big fan of “Das doppelte Lottchen” from Erich Kästner. I didn ´t like the two Disney-Versions so well and I don´t like the new german version not so well.
Only the old movie from 1950 was great.
There is also a very old film made in Great Britain. I never found it. That there is also a Japanese version, I didn´t know. It´s amazing!
Thank you very much for that movie!
Is there a chance to get a DVD that includes english synchronisation?
Thanks for posting this! I was just made aware that this existed.
you look like a muppet and they are Japanese!
This isn’t “original”. There was a German movie made a year earlier.
agreed.
these originaks are better than the one with lindsay lohan.
you mean split screen, and they use it! check out the whole film and you’ll see it many times.
and the other thing, they nvr use wad side screen 😀 double thingy . if they film hibari , sumire face cant be seen. 😀
Hi. someone on Utube told me that there is another movie, called Lottie and Luise made in Germany a year before this one based on the same novel. But youre right, the technology is amazing;)
THANKS FOR THIS ! i like original things 😀 at that time , the director is genius as they got no technology to do anything bout it if really they got no twins 😀 but all is nice 😀
🙂 got contacts. but thanx
Maybe you need glasses.
I don’t think there’s a Disney movie in existence with an original plot to be frank ^^
Um…yeah, but did you ever consider that they are both played by the same girl, with splitscreen to make it look like there’s two of them? cause thats how they made it, and Disney did the same a decade later.
without being racist or anything, just a fact: to me it´s not that obvious that the two girls are twins, right away. asian people look very much alike most of the time anyway. I guess they will say the same about caucasians. interesting topic
there´s not only a german book that all these movies are based on. actually there´s a also a movie from 1950, thus preceding this japanese version. it´s very cute, too.
Neat, I didn’t know that there was a Parent Trap movie that predated the Disney one with Haley Mills.
It’s not bad, gets to the point about them being sisters a lot faster, and they don’t seem to have issues with each other before the reveal like the Disney films.
Thanks for uploading.
This is so cool! I never knew there was an early Japanese version. I’ve heard the films were based on a German book but I’ve never seen the book. I love “The Parent Trap”: grew up with the Hayley Mills version. Still thought it was terribly cruel what the parents did to the twins even when I was a kid. This version adds another level to the cruelty telling the girls the missing parent was dead. So interesting!
me too
How weird… my birthday is December 3rd!
I love this version…it’s really cute! Plus I always think Japanese girls are so pretty.
interesting how much disney copied 🙂
great upload! thx!
Hi the twins were played by an actress/singer Hibari Misora. I think they used the same techniques as Disney for the effect. That is, using split screens for some scenes and ‘doubles’ to play in the other scenes.
Keiji
Was this done by the same actress or are they really twins?
omg.. wtf people these days are hella rude
if it involves saying watever the fuk nationality u r and sort of dissing it just dont say it at all it just hella rude and immature
Good movies and good music have no boundaries!!!
