Hallie Meets Mum – The Parent Trap (1998)

with her mother Elizabeth (Natasha Richardson). I have also posted this same scene from the 1961 original of “The Parent Trap.” Lindsay Lohan as Hallie. Lindsay went on to become a star with lead roles in “Mean Girls” and several other films. She also became a tabloid fodder due to her reckless driving and drug and alcohol use. On my honour I promise that—

I will do my duty to God and the Queen.
I will do my best to help others, whatever it costs me.
I know the scout law, and will obey it.

When I was 7 my mum died and as a kid this scene always stood out for me, I felt like I could relate to Hallie about not having a mother. Natasha’s hair and wardrobe in this film is so elegant and motherly-like, she reminds me of Princess Diana. In the metro I read that people are saying Jade Goody is like Princess Diana, which makes me sick, why can’t people make a fuss of Natasha? Her death is such a tragedy!

Natasha Richardson, was so stunning in this movie, and other parts of this movie she was so hysterical.
She was taken at her most beautiful and will always be remembered.

This is the way I will always remember her…

For a time, it seemed my childhood revolved around this movie. It seems now, though, that seeing it again will always leave me a little heartbroken. This scene was painful to watch.

I really hope you’re at peace, Natasha. The world will miss you.
