Trump says he didn’t think they went to Iraq for oil. There could be a variety of little reasons but the fact that Iraq switched it’s oil sales to the EUROS in 2000 says something. Sales were set back to US$ after the invasion!
What props up the US$ value? All oil producing nations use it for oil sales. If a bunch of these countries switched to EUROS, the US dollar would fall.
