A day after pleading not guilty to stealing a necklace, Lindsay Lohan took to Twitter to declare she’s no thief.
“i would never steal, in case people are wondering,” she wrote in a Facebook message pasted Thursday night on her Twitter page. “I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal.”
TMZ has obtained a police report stating that Lindsay walked out of the store wearing the necklace after trying on and removing several other pieces. Lindsay reportedly offered $3,000 cash for a $3,600 ring, which the owner refused, then said she would come back the next day. She reportedly walked out wearing the necklace. The owner soon found it missing and figured Lindsay had taken it by accident and would return with it. She never did.
Everything was caught on on surveillance video, but Lindsay’s case may rest on inconsistencies in statements from the store’s owner.
“The police report indicates that when the jewelry store owner first reported the theft, she indicated that the surveillance video showed Lindsay putting the necklace in her purse,” a source with knowledge of the file told RadarOnline.com.
The source told Radar that the owner didn’t hand over the video when she first reported the alleged theft, and changed her story to what the video reportedly shows – Lindsay leaving the store with the necklace on, not in her purse.
Lindsay has previously called the allegations “bullsh*t,” claiming the necklace was on loan to her and her stylist should have returned it.
Lindsay wore a white mini-dress to court and showed lots of leg – see photos here. She was released on $40,000 bail.
She is is still on probation for a 2007 drunken driving case and could face up to three years in jail if convicted.
The younger sis of Kim and Kourtney may not feel like the most beautiful sibling in the Kardashian clan, but Khloe Kardashian’s certainly the most relatable.
In an interview with the U.K. mag, LOVE, the 26-year-old reality star dishes on how she measures up to the older Kardashian ladies, saying, “I’m the ugly sister. I’m the fat one. I’m the transvestite. I have had those mean things said about me at least twice a day for the last five years. It’s horrible, you know? But I can brush that stuff off.”
In other words, even with loads of cash and fame, sounds like Khloe’s the one with real-life dilemmas. Khloe isn’t only “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” — she’s also keeping it real!
Falling Star – Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan might just hold the record for most appearances as a “Falling Star” — girl works hard for the title!
LinLo appeared in an L.A. court on Wednesday to plead “not guilty” to felony theft charges. She’s accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store. And believe me when I say, this necklace couldn’t possibly be worth stealing… the photos make it look more like one of those necklaces you craft at summer camp than some pricey pendant. If you’re going to break the law, go for the good stuff, like diamonds!
Theft tips aside — Lohan, who got out of court-ordered rehab less than two months ago, is racking up court cases faster than any movie deals. She’s also being sued by a tanning company, which claims she stiffed it on more than $40,000 in bills. The 24-year-old actress faces up to three years in prison for the theft case.
LinLo, heed this advice: if the “sticky finger” charges just don’t stick, pack up your designer clothes and move far, far away from Hollywood. Get a house in, say, Idaho (preferably a dry county). Better yet, why not run a summer camp? Then you can make as many ugly necklaces as you possibly desire.
Poor, Dave. He doesn’t want to do another Top 10 List about Lindsay Lohan, but she’s back in the news so he has to.
This time, Lohan has been charged with stealing a necklace from an LA jewelry store, and as Dave’s list shows, even the most whacked out celebrities are probably averting their eyes in shame at this point. Maybe Lohan could use some big brotherly advice from Charlie Sheen or Nick Nolte.
To Dave’s credit, he does sieze the opportunity to make a heartfelt plea to “young Hollywood” in an effort to inspire them to get their act together. But we fear it will simply fall on deaf ears.
