Lindsay Lohan’s Favorite Beach Bum Tanning Salon Holds ‘Free Lindsay’ Rally In NYC (PHOTOS)

You know, nearly everyone has missed Lindsay Lohan during her stay in the slammer, including where she fake ‘n’ bakes. According to a press release, Beach Bum Tanning Salon at 239 7th Avenue in NYC is holding a “Free Lindsay” rally at noon on Tuesday including a ribbon-tying ceremony and signs that read “We love you Lindsay! Come home soon.” From the release:

Lindsay Lohan is one of Beach Bum’s most loyal clients, with her entire family regularly visiting the salons. The salon hopes its campaign will draw awareness to the harsh punishment inflicted on Lohan due to her celebrity status and that she will be released from jail before her 90 day sentence reaches completion. […] The owners of Beach Bum miss seeing her at the salon and hope for her speedy return.

The folks at Crushable confirmed this is a real event and that Beach Bum is expecting 40 to 70 people to attend.

Alexis Neiers Describes Jail Time With Lindsay Lohan: Crying Jags, Special Treatment (VIDEO)

Alexis Neiers, the ‘Pretty Wild’ reality starlet who just served a month for her involvement in the Bling Ring, shared a cell block with Lindsay Lohan for the last three days of her sentence. Now she shares her story with E!, the network that made her a star.

Alexis did not interact with Lindsay since both were in protective custody, but she could hear her crying through the wall.

“Crying. She was crying. I could hear her,” Alexis said. “She was crying. She was talking to deputies and, you know, just trying to–I couldn’t really like make it out, but from what I saw the first day, I mean, she was lying in there and just trying to like calm down.”

One reason for Lindsay not to cry: the special treatment her hair received.

“I mean, she got to keep her extensions in and everything, which most people don’t, and the girls were like, ‘Ah, they had to take my weave out and cut it all out and,’ you know, stuff like that,” Alexis said.

Irene Rubaum-Keller: What Lindsay Lohan Can Teach Us About Our Body Image Problem

Lindsay Lohan 5’6″, 118 lbs.

That’s what her booking sheet says, according to TMZ, so I’m guessing that it is accurate because it is according to the jail’s scale. That is really, really thin. However, when we look at Lindsay, do we think, “OMG the girl is emaciated!?” I don’t, and I think that is a big problem. The images of her walking into the court look like she usually looks, not fat, not skinny, but slender. There is something wrong in our culture when a young woman with a BMI of 18.7 looks normal to us. A BMI of 18.5 or less is considered underweight and puts one at risk for health problems related to being too thin. Lindsay is just on the verge of being too thin. This is what 5’6″ and 116 lbs. looks like.

Lindsay Heading to Jail

Some of you might remember when she was way too thin. There was a time when she looked like she was anorexic. I don’t know her, and I have never treated her. Perhaps it was more drug related than an eating disorder. The more Adderall and cocaine you do, the less you eat. The more cigarettes you smoke, the less you eat. She was taking Dilaudid as well. That is one of the strongest painkillers there is. It is also one of the main drugs that led to Elvis’s death.

Anyway, back to the weight issue. It is really a cultural and health issue. Body image disorders are rampant, and the obesity epidemic is widespread. If Lindsay were to gain weight, even 10 pounds, she might not get work as an actress, most likely not model, and we would all be talking about her weight gain. That has got to be tremendous pressure. I feel for her.

If being on the verge of too thin looks healthy or “normal” to us, and a plus size model is a size 12 with the average female in the U.S. being a size 14, something is really off.
This is Crystal Renn. She is one of our most famous plus size models, and she has recently lost weight. I think she is beautiful.

Here is Marilyn at one of her higher weights. Neither Marilyn or Crystal can walk the runway, model or get acting gigs right now unless they are considered “plus” size.

Lindsay Lohan’s New Arm Tattoo: A Little Girl’s Face (PHOTOS)

That smudge is not a bruise!

Lindsay Lohan started to get a new tattoo on her upper left arm shortly before her jail stint, and the little girl’s face she’s getting inked was chosen, TMZ reports, because “she liked the innocence of the girl.”

Lohan is currently in jail.

Lindsay Lohan’s mugshot for her current jail stay is her third, and unlike her first it was more pulled together and appears calculated. Her chin is down, she is slightly smiling and her hair is smooth for the photo she knew would make news around the world.

She’s not the first woman to pull herself together for what will inevitably be a highly publicized mugshot, and some women have done it better than others.
