Lindsay Lohan wrote a piece for BlackBook on her personal style, explaining that she cuts up her designer duds in order to make them her own and that she gets inspiration from being able to travel the world. She also discussed about her current fashion project, her 6126 line and her style icon:

My fashion line, 6126, salutes modern women who understand that sophistication is always in vogue. Inspired by the iconic Marilyn Monroe and the timeless, confident glamour her memory represents, 6126 is named after her birth date. The confidence and sophistication Monroe exuded is something we don’t see today. It has been a dream come true to be so involved and hands-on in creating something I am so passionate about. When I designed the 6126 collection, I wanted to make pieces that any woman can mix and match to create her own sense of style–for example, mixing our sequin shorts with combat boots.

Lohan tried on every piece to ensure that it spoke to her vision and paid “respect to my icon, Marilyn Monroe.” 6126 isn’t the actress’s first foray into the fashion world. She previously served as Artistic Adviser at Ungaro, designing a collection of hearts and pasties. She separated from the company in March.

The closest that actor Danny Trejo ever came to doing a love scene before he made Machete? That would be in Jerry Bruckheimer’s Con Air.

“Yeah, I played a rapist and I attacked Rachel Ticotin,” Trejo says, pausing and adding with a laugh, “I didn’t get the girl.”

By contrast, in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete, which opens Sept. 3, the menacing-looking Trejo has romantic scenes with not just one actress but several – because they come on to him. In a telephone interview, you can hear the amazement in Trejo’s distinctively deep and raspy voice.

“It’s my first lead in a film and I get the girl,” he marvels. “And not just any girl. I get THE girl – Jessica Alba. We had a kiss and I kept messing up – but I swear I didn’t do it on purpose.”

And not just Alba – Trejo gets frisky with Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan: “I love strong women,” says Trejo (pronounced TRAY-hoe).

A character actor whose rugged face, imposing scowl, long hair, droopy mustache and massive chest tattoo have made him a favorite of directors and audiences alike, Trejo sounds slightly stunned at where he finds himself, at the age of 66. A one-time drug addict and seeming career criminal who did 10 years in California’s San Quentin penitentiary, Trejo now finds himself a hero in the Latino community, an in-demand performer whose IMDB page lists more than 200 film and TV credits since he made his debut in Runaway Train in 1985.

And now he’s the star of his own film: Machete, in which actors ranging from Alba and Rodriguez to Don Johnson and Cheech Marin – to Robert De Niro – play supporting roles to him.

“Every time I think about that, I laugh,” Trejo says. “I mean, I played a supporting role to De Niro in Heat. When he showed up on the set for this, he told me, ‘I knew you’d make it.’ And I said, ‘Mr. De Niro, can I get you a cup of coffee?’ I mean, he’s one of the greatest actors America has seen.”

In Machete, Trejo plays the title character, a one-time Mexican Federale who comes out on the losing end of a confrontation with a Mexican drug lord (Steven Seagal) and winds up as an itinerant and undocumented worker in Austin, Texas. There, he is recruited into a plot to help the reelection of a right-wing senator (De Niro), who’s running on an anti-immigration platform. But Machete’s real goal is revenge against the Mexican drug lord, who is also secretly involved in the reelection campaign.

The Machete character first appeared in what most people assumed was a mock trailer for the film, which was shown between the two halves of “Grindhouse,” Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 hommage to exploitation movies of the 1970s. But Trejo says the film’s genesis came much earlier.

Lindsay Lohan is back on Twitter for the first time since she surrendered herself to jail on July 20.

“Clearly.. Paparazzi shouldn’t be allowed to take pictures or video while someone’s driving or at a stop light. 4every1’s sake #trafficpolice,” she tweeted on Thursday.

Here is Lindsay in her first post-rehab photo, with headphones and an energy drink Wednesday morning. She went to the DMV to get her license reinstated on Wednesday then hit the town in a rented Maserati that night, Red Bull in hand and picking up friends at 12:30 am, People reports.

Lindsay’s friends are worried her recovery won’t last.

“Lindsay says she’s determined to stay sober and focus on work,” a source told People. “[But] it’s too soon to tell what will happen. We’ve seen these moments of ‘purity’ before, but as soon as she gets a taste of the nightlife and the drama, she usually falls back into old habits fast.”

Most of the cast of “Machete” was on hand in Los Angeles on Wednesday (August 25) to celebrate the premiere of their B-movie-inspired, Robert Rodriguez-directed flick. But one of the film’s stars was noticeably absent: Lindsay Lohan, who had been released from rehab a day earlier. The young actress’ road to recovery was on the mind of her co-stars.

“You know what, I just care about her as a person,” Don Johnson told MTV News on the red carpet. “God bless her and she’s gonna do fine.”

Normal. It’s not a word I’m used to using in regards to Lindsay Lohan. From the very beginning she has been many things — oh how I adored her as the red-haired imp on The Parent Trap, Culottes Edition — but she has never been normal. Currently, for those of you keeping tabs on the fallen princess, she just finished serving jail time for missing her alcohol classes and went directly to rehab (do not pass Hollywood & Vine, do not collect $200). She was supposed to spend 90 days in rehab but doctors at the UCLA center have decided that she might not be an addict after all, despite all the photographic and textual evidence of her looking inebriated and/or high as she gets DUIs and has raging public fights with her exes on Twitter. No, it appears her problems with manic behavior, impulsivity, sleep disturbances and even alcoholism, are all symptoms of a psychosis brought on by addiction to the AD/HD drug Adderall. And in this, Lindsay may be more normal than we’d like her to be.

It is estimated that about 25% of college students take Adderall or Ritalin for non-medical purposes. No one really knows for sure because students are understandably reluctant to ‘fess up to their amphetamine use although ask any college student you know and they’ll likely tell you it’s easier to get an Adderall than a beer. Prescriptions of the drug are up 3100% over the past several years which only increases the black-market viability. Even in my un-hip over-30 demographic, I run out of hands to count on before I run out of people I know who have used it.

A while ago, I wrote about an experience where a friend at the gym approached me about taking Adderall to lose weight. She called it “the perfect life in a pill” and was so persuasive in her efforts (and descriptive in her how-to’s) that I was sorely tempted to give it a try myself. Although it’s not mentioned in any of my pregnancy manuals, being that I’m a nursing mom and we’re not even allowed to eat unpasteurized cheese I’m pretty sure that recreational prescription drug abuse is a no-no. I wrote the post in an effort to cleanse myself of thoughts of magically fitting skinny jeans and brilliant articles that write themselves. But it was all the comments you guys left me detailing your horrific experiences with it and the many detrimental side effects that really sealed it for me. I never tried it. (Seriously, anyone contemplating non-medical Adderall use should go read through that comment thread.)

For those people truly afflicted with AD/HD, the drug can be a lifesaver but for people wrongly diagnosed, the fallout can be severe. According to doctors, Lindsay is not AD/HD and should never have been prescribed the drug – small comfort, I’m sure, as she roasts on the spit of public condemnation. But in a world where achievement is everything and our public figures are only as good as their last interview, it doesn’t take much imagination to figure out how she would end up with her very own golden ticket on a Rx pad.

What happens to Lindsay Lohan now that she’s been taken off the meds is anyone’s guess. Perhaps she’ll metamorphose overnight back into the moppet we all loved and start being a reliable actress again. Or maybe she’ll go on a coke bender and all our speculation about whether her symptoms were “cocaine-like” or just “cocaine” will be ended. For the record, I hope it’s the former. As much as I love a good train wreck, I prefer the ones where everyone walks out alive.

Either way though we now have conclusive proof, walking around in padded-knee “Presidential” leggings, that Adderall can make you crazy. To this end, Lindsay may end up being a more powerful cautionary tale about the risks of abusing prescription stimulants than any D.A.R.E. campaign college boards could imagine. At the very least I suppose I owe her a thank-you card.
