Lindsay Lohan is now wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet to keep her from drinking. Some parents might wonder, if the bracelet is so useful, can I get one for my teen? The answer is no. At present, the ankle bracelets, worth of 1500 US dollars, are only sold to the courts, probation officers to keep drunken drivers or anyone involved in alcohol-related offenses from drinking again. On Monday, a bracelet was fixed on Lohan’s ankle by an angry judge, because the actress didn’t show up for a hearing last week in Beverly Hill, Calif., instead flew to Cannes to take part in the Film Festival in France. It’s her second go-around with the bracelet. Rapper-actress Eve wore one and ex-basketball star Jayson Williams was forced to earlier this year. The bracelet can check the perspiration on the skin. If there’s alcohol, it causes a chemical reaction in the device’s fuel cell. The bracelet are much like the better known electronic ankle bracelets that have been used for years to restrict suspects or parolees to their homes. (The alcohol bracelets can now do that too, if needed.)
