LA’s Winners Of The Week, July 2

A weekly roundup of LA’s big winners, to see the losers click here.

Lindsay Lohan:Lohan is something of a mainstay in our weekly roundups, but this would be her first appearance in the “winners” side. Progress! It was revealed this week that a Santa Monica police officer wrote off the white powder found on Lohan in a 2007 DUI stop as “wet crushed breath mint“, and threw it in the trash. The contaminated “breath mint” was then rendered inadmissible as evidence, explaining the quick and relatively painless deal she managed to strike in court. U.S.A.!

Michael Cimarusti The mastermind behind Providence reaffirmed his place in the pantheon of great LA chefs, earning Angeleno Magazine’s 8th annual chef of the year award.

David Nevins:In a huge move, described by Nikki Finke as a “double shocker”, the man who developed some of the greatest television in recent memory (Arrested Development, 24) at Imagine Television was tapped to replace Robert Greenblatt as the programming chief at Showtime. The cable network has had a string of hits under Greenblatt, with shows like “Dexter”, “Weeds”, and “Nurse Jackie.”

Phil Jackson:Either Phil came to his senses or his agent finished playing games, either way we’ll take it. The zen master will be returning next season to go for the three-peat.
