Lindsay Lohan Faces Customs Hold, Begs For Private Jet From Cannes

UPDATE: Lindsay’s court hearing went on in her absence. A judge issued a bench warrant for her arrest and set bail at $100,000.

According to TMZ, she will be stopped at customs when she lands and, according to police, she never reported her passport stolen.

She was also photographed leaving a yacht party late Wednesday, wearing thigh highs and a jaunty cap, not appearing to be searching for her missing passport.

PREVIOUSLY:
As her 8:30 a.m. Thursday court date in LA approaches, Lindsay Lohan is still stuck in Cannes without a passport, which she claims was stolen.

Lindsay has sent a desperate email to everyone she knows looking for a private jet to take her back to LA, and Radaronline.com has gotten a hold of it:

I need my friends, and people I work with to PLEASE help me get on a private plane tomorrow by at least 5pm. This is such a horrible thing that’s happened to me and extremely unfortunate. My passports been stolen and the day before my court hearing. I would never ask such a thing, but if there’s anything that I could ever ask of anyone, it would be to help me with this. I must get back on a jet to LA tomorrow. If anyone has planes leaving Nice/Cannes at any time after 11am when I get my passport, please, please, let me know if you can help me. God bless All my love Thank you, Lindsay Lohan

Wednesday night Lindsay didn’t let her legal worries stop her from having fun. TMZ has photos of her partying on a boat in Cannes in thigh-high stockings.

Meanwhile Lindsay is making some pocket change while overseas. Wednesday night she tweeted this ad:

When Lindsay fails to appear in court Thursday morning, the judge has said she will issue a warrant for her arrest. She stands to go to jail for up to 180 days if she finds her way back to the U.S.

Steve Pond: Cannes Midweek: Sex, Drugs, Rock … and Lindsay

There’s nothing like a Rolling Stone, some classic tales of rock ‘n’ roll excess, and Hollywood’s reigning party girl to give a shot of adrenaline a film festival after a week of austere, arty foreign films.

Granted, maybe the 2010 Cannes Film Festival didn’t need Mick Jagger and Lindsay Lohan to liven things up. Maybe the usual assortment of mobs on the Croisette and starlets on the beach and yachts in the harbor — and, oh yeah, movies in the theaters and screening rooms — would have kept people interested regardless.

But Jagger came to town on Tuesday to promote the Rolling Stones documentary Stones in Exile, and Lohan arrived to hype her planned Linda Lovelace biopic and possibly get in some more trouble with the courts back in L.A. Suddenly the South of France partied a little harder.

And to think, only a day or two ago the big news was that Jean-Luc Godard failed to show up for his press conference.

Sure, you could argue that a Godard no-show has more to do with what Cannes is really about than a Jagger sneer or a Lohan stumble. And you’d be right. But if you’re looking for a little tabloid attention, for TMZ and Perez Hilton to turn their gazes toward the South of France, then Mick and Lindsay certainly come in handy.

Lindsay Lohan Bares Legs, Loses Passport In Cannes (PHOTOS)

Lindsay Lohan is in Cannes, where she arrived last weekend despite having a court hearing in LA on Thursday that requires her to complete four more alcohol education classes to avoid jail time.

Lindsay says she planned to be back in LA for her court date, but she claims someone stole her passport in Cannes and she will be unable to return in time.

Lindsay’s lawyer told TMZ, “I was on the phone with Lindsay’s assistant the entire night and we’re doing everything we can to resolve this issue and get her back to L.A. Lindsay is distraught because it was her intention to get back to L.A. today to do more alcohol education classes and appear in court tomorrow.”

Meanwhile Lindsay was out partying in Cannes until 5 a.m. Wednesday with Dominic Cooper, boyfriend of Amanda Seyfried, Lohan’s former ‘Mean Girls’ costar.

“They were being coy with each other,” a clubgoer told E! News. “Not really touchy, but flirty. After Grace [Jones]’s performance they sat down at the table next to each other and were hanging out.”

UPDATE: As of Wednesday evening, Seyfried and Cooper are “taking a break.”

Lindsay has not applied for a new passport, Radaronline.com reports, though she has reported her old passport stolen. The duty officer for the U.S. Embassy in France told Radar that Lindsay needs to fill out paperwork to get a temporary passport, and now that paperwork cannot be obtained until Thursday morning.

The judge involved in the case has said she will issue a warrant for Lindsay’s arrest if Lindsay is not in court at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
