After splitting with Lindsay Lohan over the weekend, Samantha Ronson and her family inquired about obtaining a restraining order against an unidentified person on Monday, PEOPLE has confirmed.

“On Monday, April 6, 2009, at approximately 5 p.m., members of Samantha Ronson’s family came to the Beverly Hills Police Department,” a police spokesperson says. “They were given information for the process of obtaining a restraining order which will be administered at the Santa Monica Superior Courthouse.”

LOS ANGELES — Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have split _ for now. Lohan says that she and the 31-year-old Ronson, who announced they were a couple in September, are “taking a brief break so I can focus on myself.”

Lohan, 22, made the comments to E! News Monday after a tumultuous weekend that saw the troubled pop star barred from a Ronson family party. The two have been dogged by rumors of arguments and breakups for months and are often photographed fighting.

Sources confirm to E! News that LiLo was indeed denied entry Friday night into the launch party hosted by girlfriend Samantha Ronson’s sister, Charlotte, for her JC Penney clothing line. (Samantha also DJ’d the bash.)

But E! News has also learned the couple later reunited at an after-party in a room at the Chateau Marmont. The party drama outside Bar Marmont was just the latest battle in an ongoing feud between Lohan and the Ronson family, as well as several anti-SamRo pals, including Nicole Richie.

After all the labor pains of Labor Pains, Lindsay Lohan’s latest flick is getting a less-than-grand entry into life.

Instead of a silver-screen launch, the film she wrapped in August 2008 will receive a quieter debut on ABC Family in July, with a DVD release in August, Access Hollywood reports.

The frequently hounded star has spoken out exclusively to E! News, relaying that the incessant public speculation over the status of her sobriety, the healthiness of her bank account and, perhaps most of all, her relationship with Samantha Ronson has indeed been frustrating for her to endure.

“They need to stop saying we’re fighting,” she said of the media’s fixation on the ups and downs–though mainly downs–of her love life with Ronson.

“People telling lies about me to her and all this garbage. I’m really a good person and I have a good heart and just want to work. The only reason I go to clubs is to hear Samantha spin or be normal.”
